Calling All Creatives: Time to Make Your Mark!
Presented by Peter H. and Paul A. Reynolds

In a world facing that is facing increasing challenges, there is one human superpower that the Reynolds brothers are confident will come to the rescue: creativity. Human ingenuity, persistence, and creative problem solving are needed to tackle a host of global problems - environmental, economic, and social. To that end, the Reynolds are dedicated to inspiring creativity and bravery in the next generation of creative problem-solvers around the globe.

Peter and Paul proudly proclaim their 200-year mission - to create and share positive media, storytelling and technology to move the world to a better place. The impact of their films, storybooks for all ages, and creativity software has been felt by millions around the globe - especially in classrooms, school libraries and other places of learning. Core to their message is the deep-seated belief that creative human potential exists in every young learner. But this unfolding gift must be both protected from a myriad of pressures (fear, self-doubt, test-centric schooling, etc.), fostered as early as possible, and encouraged life-long.

Peter and Paul will share how some very special teachers helped the brothers not only develop the courage to navigate their own unique creative work but led them to make it their own life’s mission to encourage others to do the same with a host of digital tools they have developed that support creativity and self-expression, as well as STEAM/maker education.

The brothers will spotlight and celebrate creative educators who understand the critical mission of developing and protecting creativity. In the innovation economy, creativity is not a nice-to-have – it is absolutely essential. We must incubate the attributes of creativity – fostering self-directed, resilient, creative problem-solvers and original thinkers who are critical to our nation’s future as a global leader in innovation and social change making. By wiring creativity as an overlay to the entire curriculum, we support the development of next-generation innovators – who will take the lead in helping solve a myriad of local, national and global challenges in the decades to come.

Enjoy snippets of their acclaimed short animated films and storybooks that continue to inspire others to rethink old systems of learning that stifle the very creativity that this next generation of learners will need to take on our planet’s future demands, conflicts and crises.

The Reynolds brothers are excited to connect once again with the CUE community. Peter started attending and speaking at CUE nearly 25 years ago - designing dozens of illustrated conference logos over the years, and has always held a special place in his heart for the CUE community. That’s why - even though Peter and Paul strictly shelter their birthday (March 16th) for an off-site annual retreat they call TwinDay - they made an exception for CUE 2018!

Peter and Paul Reynolds will be available to sign books at the CUE Gear Store Thursday, March 15 and Friday, March 16.
