Frank Rizzo is currently the Director of Instructional and Information Technology / CIO for the Alden Central School District in New York. In this position he is responsible for finding ways to better use technology on how it impacts learning and student achievement. Frank has twenty six years of experience in education previously working as a school psychologist and a chairperson for the committee on special education.
He is one of the few IT Directors in the country that has the right mix of certifications that is qualified to ask "How did it make you FEEL when your computer went down!" Frank was selected as an Apple Distinguished Educator in 2003. He has been quoted in Business First magazine, eSchool News, SchoolCIO.com and THE Journal. Frank was chosen as one of the first group of iPhone app developers back in 2008 and had eighteen iPhone/iPad programs on the App Store. He was a feature presenter at TIE (Technology in Education) Colorado and has presented at national conferences for Ingram Micro, Pearson and Apple on a wide variety of topics related to technology in education.
He resides in East Aurora, New York where you may see him driving with his top down in his convertible during a snowstorm.
