Gail Lovely is a former classroom teacher of students 4 to 13 years old. She believes that teaching is her calling and a deep part of who she is. Gail taught in schools for 9 years before moving into district and county-level positions in staff development and technology integration in the classroom. She is an early adopter of technology, earning her Master’s Degree in Educational Computing from Pepperdine University in the early 1980s and serving on the CUE Board of Directors. Following her graduation she was an Adjunct Professor there for many years, teaching graduate level technology integration courses. After moving to Texas Gail returned to university teaching at the University of Houston and teaching online courses in the selection and integration of technology for the University of Northern Iowa. Along the way Gail has hosted an online community for teachers on Scholastic Network, founded the K2 Email List for Classroom Connect, and written ongoing columns inLearning and Leading with Technology, Instructor Magazine, Electronic Learning, and Curriculum Administrator Magazine. She is proud of her recently published book “Suddenly It Clicks! - Using an iPad with Your Preschooler” co-written with Gayle Berthiaume.


Gail has long worked to improve and encourage the wise use of technologies with young learners. She is proud of her role in forming ELN, a Professional Learning Network of ISTE that focuses on Early Learning and Technology. Gail has provided professional development through ISTE (International Society for Technology in Education), Harcourt Learning Technologies, Classroom Connect and others. She leads her own company, working with schools, school systems and private companies to design and deliver professional development sessions. Gail focuses on the implementation of technologies, teaching strategies and the application of powerful learning models. Embedded professional development, learning management in a collaborative, connected classroom, and developing powerful learning environments are some areas of particular interest and expertise to Gail. She was honored to receive recognition as the Trainer of the Year for the Texas Association for the Education of Young Children and to be named “Best of NECC/ISTE” for her sessions at several NECC/ISTE Conferences. Gail has shared her knowledge and ideas as a featured or keynote speaker in numerous states and countries over the last few years, including her presentation for the Ministry of Education of The Bahamas, Keynote at the TCEA Tech for Tots Conference, Keynote at the Early Literacy Conference at the Fred Rogers Center, and as a featured or spotlight speaker at FETC and ISTE for the past 10 years.


Gail is known for her practical approach to education, her appreciation and admiration for teaching and learning and her skill at making the complex understandable and the difficult manageable.
