R. Corey Moore

Valley View High School
French Teacher
Moreno Valley, CA
I was born in Michigan, but raised in California and Florida, where I
graduated from high school. I attended Michigan State University from 1978
until 1980. While in high school and college I participated in marching
bands

I served a two year mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day
Saints where I learned how to speak French. I attended Brigham Young
University where I was awarded a Bachelor of Arts degree in French with
minors in History and Physical Education. It was at BYU that I decided to
become a teacher. I also have done some coaching since I was at BYU. I coached the diving team at Provo High School in Provo, Utah for the 4 years I attended BYU and have coached various sports while in this district. In 2004, I received my Master's Degree in Integrating Technology in the Classroom from Walden University.

I have taught in the Moreno Valley Unified School District for my entire career and have taught at both the middle school and high school levels. I have taught French, Drama, Physical Education, Language Arts, and Social Studies.

I have been a member of IACUE since 1992 (except for a short 4 years in the late 1990'2 when I was unable to join due to other commitments) I make sure that one of the first things I do each year now is renew my membership because I believe so strongly in the mission of CUE.

I have many outside interests, but my main interests outside of school are my family and my church (where I spend most of my outside time between the two activities) in addition to participating in community theater. I have also been involved in officiating basketball and baseball/softball since 1987 at levels ranging from youth to varsity high school in basketball.

My wife and I have been married since 1985 and we have 3 children, 2 boys and 1 girl.
