LAUSD Social Emotional Learning Unit SEL Adviser
Karla Lopez, M.Ed., has served school communities in various diverse educational settings in Los Angeles for over 22 years. In her various roles, she has worked collaboratively with others to foster partnerships and leverage resources that support students’ social-emotional development. Ms. Lopez works as a Social Emotional Learning (SEL) Adviser in L.A. Unified’s Division of Instruction, she has produced districtwide SEL progressional development and is a content developer for the Social Emotional Learning unit. Additionally, Ms. Lopez has published her own social-emotional children’s book titled, “In the Heart of the Coop.”
