For nearly fifteen years, Kelly has worked in education. She began her career as a researcher for the Milwaukee Mathematics Partnership, an NSF-funded initiative created to improve mathematics teaching and learning in Wisconsin. Realizing the heartbreaking reality that homelife and access play in student success rates, Kelly took a job with Voyager, an education start-up (at the time) that was building reading and math programs to accelerate struggling students. There, she worked with the research and product teams to expand their product line to include a suite of online reading and math interventions that individualized instruction for students and improved their learning trajectories. Seeing the way technology could revolutionize teaching and learning, Kelly moved on to Instructure, where she now works on the K12 product team researching ways to improve their current product offerings and finding new ways technology can improve access to high-quality instruction for every student.
